Balyktykol (Kazakh: Балықтыкөл; Russian: Балыктыколь)[1] is a lake in Zhanasemey District, Abai Region, Kazakhstan.
[2][3] The lake is located 72 km (45 mi) to the west of Semey city, former Semipalatinsk.
A tributary of the Shagan flows into Balyktykol from the southeast into the southeastern end.
Close to the southwest of the western shore there is a small round lake and 12 km (7.5 mi) to the south lies lake Shuga.
The lake surface freezes in the middle of November and thaws by the first decade of April.
