Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) is an academic forum for Bangladeshi scientists and technologists.

According to the Academy's policy, fellows are elected in this category in recognition of their outstanding original contributions to various branches of science.

[6][7] Bangladeshi eminent scientists who are living abroad permanently or temporarily are awarded Expatriate Fellowships.

Foreign or international fellowships are awarded to eminent scientists who are not citizens of Bangladesh and who have made significant contributions to science or have special knowledge in the subject.

This fellowship is generally awarded to young scientists who are under 45 years of age, have a higher research degree and are exceptionally talented and promising in the field of science and technology.
