Section 7 of the Advocates Act, 1961 lays down the regulatory and representative requirements which are mandatory for State Bar Councils.
[1][2] Graduates having a law degree from recognised universities permitted to impart legal education are admitted as advocates in The Bar Council of Rajasthan.
After clearing the exam, they are certified by the Bar Council of India and issued 'a Certificate of Enrolment', which facilitates them to practice the profession of law in any High Court based in India and lower courts of the country, as an advocate.
In 2013, Bar Council of Rajasthan had opposed the proposed names of lawyers by Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court for promotion as additional judges in state High Court citing lack of merit.
In 2021 June, Bar Council of Rajasthan had objected the proposed notification by Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court permitting entry into High Court premises of individuals only after completion of 14 days from the date of completion of second dose of vaccination.
