Barbara Tizard

Barbara Patricia Tizard, FBA, FBPsS (née Parker; 16 April 1926 – 4 January 2015) was a British psychologist and academic, specialising in developmental psychology.

Tizard was born on 16 April 1926 in West Ham, London, England.

[3] She matriculated into Somerville College, Oxford in 1944 to study medicine but changed to Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) after a year.

[1] She later undertook part-time postgraduate studies at the University of London, and completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree on the "psychological effects of brain damage".
