The township includes the unincorporated communities of Redclyffe, Hottelville, Clarington, and Cooksburg.

Pennsylvania Route 899 crosses the township, leading north to Marienville and south (via PA 36) to Brookville.

The racial makeup of the township was 99.43% White and 0.57% Native American.
