The township surrounds the borough of Tionesta, a separate municipality.

U.S. Route 62 passes through the township and the borough following the Allegheny, leading north to Warren and southwest to Oil City.

PA 36 leads northwest to Pleasantville and southeast to Brookville.

[3] As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 610 people, 260 households, and 191 families residing in the township.

23.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
