Bernhard Ludvig Essendrop

Bernhard Ludvig Essendrop (21 December 1812 – 13 March 1891) was a Norwegian politician and priest in the Church of Norway.

He was born in Christiania (now Oslo) and was the brother of Bishop Carl Peter Parelius Essendrop.

[1][3] He was originally among the prominent liberals, a group which also included Johan Sverdrup, Johannes Steen and Ole Richter, but later became more moderate/conservative.

[2] Essendrop also served as praeses of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters from 1874 to 1883.
