Beth Gardner Helfrich

She represents North Carolina's 98th House district,[2] made up of Davidson, Cornelius, and northern Huntersville in northern Mecklenburg County.

[3] Helfrich defeated former Huntersville mayor Melinda Bales in 2024,[4] flipping the seat from Republican control after the previous incumbent, John R. Bradford III, did not run for re-election.

Helfrich graduated from Davidson College in 2003,[5] where she majored in theater.

[9] She also worked as Communications Director at a local Davidson bookstore, Main Street Books.

[9][10] Her husband, Tim Helfrich, is an owner of Summit Coffee, a coffee shop headquartered in Davidson,[5] and Beth Helfrich served in a directorial position at the shop.
