The duo originally feuded together in June 2023, but after Cole's title shot match for MJF's AEW World Championship, they were forced to work as one tag team for the Blind Eliminator Tournament to earn an AEW World Tag Team Championship title match against the reigning champions, FTR, in which they won the tournament but lost against FTR.

The duo were then informed by Tony Schiavone that they had been randomly drawn together as a tag team for the upcoming Blind Eliminator Tournament, much to both men's dismay.

[7] Despite the loss, MJF had promised Cole a future AEW World Championship match, which he announced to take place at the main event of All In.

[10] On August 27 at All In, Cole and MJF defeated Aussie Open to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

[13] At WrestleDream in October 2023, MJF successfully defended the titles against The Righteous (Dutch and Vincent) in a handicap match after Cole suffered a broken ankle.
