Biggin is a hamlet and manor in Chadwell St Mary,[1] part of the borough of Thurrock, in the ceremonial county of Essex, England.
It is about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the town of Tilbury and a similar distance east of Grays.
From the 13th century until the dissolution, the manor was owned by the Cistercian Abbey of Stratford Langethorne.
[2] The manor was then granted to the Dean and Chapter of St Paul's Cathedral.
Two court rolls covering the period 1704 - 1724 are held at the Essex Record Office.
