Bill McCarthy (politician)

William John Patrick McCarthy (22 May 1923 – 25 April 1987) was an Australian politician.

He was a Labor Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, representing Armidale from 1978 to 1981, and Northern Tablelands from 1981 to 1987.

Although the new seat had a notional National Country Party majority, McCarthy was elected.

McCarthy resigned due to ill health on 22 April 1987 and died 3 days later.
