Bill Power (Australian politician)

William Joseph Power (3 January 1893 – 29 May 1974) was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly and an Alderman in the Brisbane City Council.

Power became a leading trade union official before deciding to enter state politics.

[1] He served as Secretary for Public Works, Housing and Local Government from 1947 to 1950, Secretary for Mines and Immigration from 1950 till 1952, and Attorney-General from 1952 till Labor's defeat from government in 1957.

[1] Power married Alice Gertrude Cain (died 1977) in 1918 and together they had four sons.

He was an avid rugby league supporter, and also interested in Game fowl and dogs.
