The Town[1] of Black Earth is located in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 17.3 square miles (44.8 km2), all of it land.
Much of the territory of the current towns of Berry and Mazomanie was originally part of Farmersville/Black Earth.
The racial makeup of the town was 98.44% White, 0.67% Black or African American, 0.45% Asian, and 0.45% from two or more races.
12.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
