Bob Jones (Grand Dragon)

James Robertson "Bob" Jones (July 26, 1929 – April 16, 1989)[1] was an American white supremacist political activist who was active in the Ku Klux Klan in the 1950s and 1960s.

He was Grand Dragon of the North Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan from 1963 until 1969, when he was sent to prison for contempt of Congress.

[2][3][1] His father was a railroad worker and had been a member of the Ku Klux Klan, an American white supremacist organization, in the 1920s.

[4] In August 1963, Jones was elected as the Grand Dragon of the North Carolina state chapter of the United Klans of America.

Jones did not agree with decisions made by the new leadership, and he ceased to be active in the Klan.
