Bolpur subdivision is part of the Suri-Bolpur Plain, a sub-micro physiographic region.

It covers the interfluves of the Mayurakshi and Ajay, in the south-eastern part of the district.

This area exhibits somewhat upland topography sloping from north-west to south-east.
