Bombus perplexus

It is mostly black with areas of pale hairs.

It can be found in wetland habitat, wooded areas, and urban gardens.

It feeds on many kinds of plants, such as bellflowers, thistles, honeysuckles, penstemons, pickerel weeds, and lindens.
