Bomet County is located in the Rift Valley region of Kenya, was established in 2010 and had a population of approximately 875,689[¹], (2009 census) making it the 32nd largest county in Kenya by population.
The county is characterized by its rolling hills, fertile agricultural land, and significant natural resources, including the Mau Forest and rivers such as Nyangores and Chepalungu.
The predominant ethnic group is the Kalenjin, known for their rich cultural heritage and agricultural practices.

Islam and Hinduism is adhered to by less than 1% of the population of whom majority of the same are non residents of Bomet County.
