[6] The land snail genus Bothriembryon is endemic to Australia but forms part of the Gondwanan element in the superfamily Orthalicoidea.

[6] Fossils of Bothriembryon have been found on the Nullarbor Plain in southern Australia, dating to the late Pliocene.
