Bradford-Keighley Youth Parliament

[1] Formed in the early 2000s, the parliament now consists of 30 members, who are elected to represent the views of young people in their area to local government and service providers.

[2] A Member of Youth Parliament (MYP) represents the views and needs of all young people in their constituency to government, service providers and decision makers locally, regionally and nationally.

Three MYPs from the BKYP are also selected to sit on the United Kingdom Youth Parliament.

The BKYP meets regularly (normally weekly) both with their other constituency MYPS, and the youth parliament as a whole.

Young people are encouraged to come to these meetings to question their MYPs and find out about their work.
