It serves the city of Brighton, townships of Green Oak, Genoa, Hamburg, Brighton in Livingston County and parts of Lyon Township in adjacent Oakland County.

Lindbom Elementary School was closed in 2010 due to new budget cuts and was demolished in 2023.

The kindergarten section of Miller was closed in 2009 due to budget cuts in the district.

It was later used as the first Scranton Middle School, until a newer facility was built.
