[4] The UCO holds Recognised Qualification (RQ) status from the statutory regulatory body for osteopathy in the UK, the General Osteopathic Council.
It was given University College status in September 2017 from the UK Privy Council,[3] and it is an exempt charity.
[5][6] After Littlejohn's death in 1947, the school's direction was shaped by several people including Clem Middleton and Margot Gore.
There is also an Introduction to Osteopathic Sciences course for potential M.Ost students who lack a solid scientific foundation.
In the last two years of their M.Ost degree course, they gain practical experience by treating members of the public at the UCO's clinical centre under the supervision of tutors who are fully qualified, practising osteopaths.
