According to the 1467-68 Ottoman defter, Brvenica appears as being inhabited by an Orthodox Christian population.
[1][2] In statistics gathered by Vasil Kanchov in 1900, the village of Brvenica was inhabited by 105 Orthodox Bulgarians.
