The Buenos Aires City Police is led by a Chief of Police who is appointed by the head of the executive branch of the City Government.
The four major operational areas are:[4] The force is made up of eleven superintendencies and seven autonomous departments.
The Buenos Aires City Police has 13 ranks, led by the Chief Superintendent.
