Bussy-sur-Moudon

Bussy-sur-Moudon (Arpitan: Bussê) is a municipality in the district Broye-Vully in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

[3] Bussy-sur-Moudon has an area, as of 2009[update], of 3.09 square kilometers (1.19 sq mi).

Of the rest of the land, 0.23 km2 (0.089 sq mi) or 7.4% is settled (buildings or roads).

[5] The municipality is located in the western portion of the upper Broye valley.

[9] Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (174 or 93.5%), with German being second most common (4 or 2.2%) and Portuguese being third (3 or 1.6%).

[8] The age distribution, as of 2009[update], in Bussy-sur-Moudon is; 10 children or 5.5% of the population are between 0 and 9 years old and 25 teenagers or 13.7% are between 10 and 19.

[9] The historical population is given in the following chart:[3][13] In the 2007 federal election the most popular party was the SVP which received 34.59% of the vote.

In the federal election, a total of 66 votes were cast, and the voter turnout was 43.7%.

[9] There were 100 residents of the municipality who were employed in some capacity, of which females made up 44.0% of the workforce.

In 2008[update] the total number of full-time equivalent jobs was 33.

The number of jobs in the tertiary sector was 2, of which 1 was in the sale or repair of motor vehicles.

[9] From the 2000 census[update], 33 or 17.7% were Roman Catholic, while 138 or 74.2% belonged to the Swiss Reformed Church.

In the Vaud cantonal school system, two years of non-obligatory pre-school are provided by the political districts.

[17] During the school year, the political district provided pre-school care for a total of 155 children of which 83 children (53.5%) received subsidized pre-school care.

The canton's primary school program requires students to attend for four years.
