Cai Fuchao

He previously served as deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party and director of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (formerly State Administration for Radio and Television, or SARFT), and vice-mayor of Beijing.

He began work as a traffic publicity office worker, then in 1979 he began working for Beijing Daily, the Communist Party's flagship local newspaper of Beijing.

In 2002, he was named to the municipal Party Standing Committee, and became propaganda chief of Beijing.

SARFT was reformed in 2013 and became the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.

Cai was a member of the 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
