Originally introduced as an enemy of the Atom, the character was later redeveloped in the 2000s as a master information broker, hacker, and tactical supervisor to other supervillains, and foil to Batman's partner Oracle.

By typing on the keypad, he could make "hard light" constructs appear from the headpiece, similar to Green Lantern's power ring.

After Wonder Girl breaks free she attempts to kill him, for the dead Teen Titans member Kid Eternity, but is stopped by Red Robin.

In the Birds of Prey series, Calculator worked with four other supervillains in his cabal to absorb part of Kilg%re's nanotech into himself and gain technology-manipulating abilities.
