It is currently represented by Democrat Patrick Ahrens of Sunnyvale, California.

The district is located in Santa Clara County.

It encompasses the cities of Cupertino, Sunnyvale, and Santa Clara as well as parts of San Jose, California.

Due to redistricting, the 26th district has been moved around different parts of the state.
