California's 4th senatorial district is one of 40 California State Senate districts.

It is currently represented by Marie Alvarado Gil of Jackson.

The district encompasses the northeastern portion of the Central Valley, along with the central Sierra Nevada and all of Death Valley.

It includes Stanislaus, Calaveras, Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Alpine, Tuolumne, Mariposa, Madera, Mono, and Inyo Counties.
