Call signs in Barbados

[1][2][3] The International Telecommunication Union has assigned Barbados the following call sign blocks for all radio communication, broadcasting or transmission:[4] Amateur radio call signs are unique identifiers for the 315 licensed operators in Barbados.

The call signs are regulated internationally by the ITU as well as nationally by the Telecommunications Unit in the Ministry of Energy and Public Utilities.

[5] The Telecommunications Unit issues call signs in the 8P series for amateur use.

Call signs are assigned on a sequential basis and normally amateurs are not allowed to select one even if available.

The Telecommunications Regulations indicate that call sign must be sent, and if in morse code not more than 20 words per minute speed.
