Camila Merino Catalán is an industrial engineer and former Minister of Labor and Social Welfare for Chile.
In 1991 she began working as an executive for Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM), where she remained for the next 16 years.
For her functions in the mining company, she worked for several years in Antofagasta, where she was director of the Association of Local Industries.
[2] The headhunter Humanitas selected her as a candidate for General Manager of Santiago Metro in December 2007, position which she accepted.
[3] In February 2010, she was nominated by Chile’s President-elect Sebastián Piñera as Minister of Labor and Social Forecast.
