Cammingha

Van Cammingha is an old Frisian noble family and their house from the Dutch province of Friesland.

Currently the town hall of Ballum is located on the Island of Ameland, on the location where the family castle stood until 1828.

The oldest known ancestor is Rienck Cammingha who lived in the first part of the 16th century.

The family have played an important role in the Dutch history since the early 17th century.
