Carlos Eduardo Kenig (born November 25, 1953) is an Argentine-American mathematician and Louis Block Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Chicago.
Kenig obtained his PhD at the University of Chicago in 1978 under the supervision of Alberto Calderón.
He has done extensive work in elliptic and dispersive partial differential equations.
His students include Zhongwei Shen, Kin Ming Hui, Gigliola Staffilani and Panagiota Daskalopoulos.
Kenig was elected President of the International Mathematical Union in July 2018, a position that he holds until 2022.
