Carlton B. Curtis

Carlton Brandaga Curtis (December 17, 1811 – March 17, 1883) was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Pennsylvania's 23rd congressional district from 1851 to 1853 and the 24th district from 1853 to 1855.

He then switched parties and later served again as a Republican member for the 19th district from 1873 to 1875.

He served as chairman of the United States House Committee on Accounts during the Thirty-third Congress.

Curtis entered the Union Army on February 13, 1862, as lieutenant colonel of the Fifty-eighth Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry for a period of three years.

He was also interested in banking and the production of oil, and was one of the originators and builders of the Dunkirk & Venango Railroad.
