Elmer J. Holland

Elmer Joseph Holland (January 8, 1894 – August 9, 1968) was an American World War I veteran who served as a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania during the mid-20th-century.

[3][4] He served with the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I as a second lieutenant of Field Artillery.

[7][8] He was elected as a Democrat to the 77th United States Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Joseph A. McArdle and served from May 19, 1942, to January 3, 1943.

[9][10] He served as a major in the European Theater of Operations during World War II.

[11][12] He was again elected to the 84th United States Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Vera Buchanan.
