Carolyn Anne Jakobsen (born 11 September 1947) is a former Australian politician.
[2] She did not renounce her New Zealand citizenship until January 1990, following media attention given to the parliamentary eligibility requirements of section 44(i) of the constitution.
She was elected chair of the Australian Labor Party Caucus in 1990, the first woman to hold the position.
She opposed Australian involvement in the 1991 Gulf War, and was one of ten MPs censured by the ALP National Executive for walking out on a pro-war speech by Prime Minister Bob Hawke.
