Carslogie Steamship Co Ltd v Royal Norwegian Government [1952] is a House of Lords judgment on English tort law.
On 26 November 1949 the vessel Heimgar, while under time charter to the Ministry of Transport, suffered damage in a collision with the Carslogie.
During the Atlantic crossing, the ship sustained storm damage, which necessitated further repair.
The House of Lords held that the storm was a novus actus interveniens that broke the chain of causation.
This House of Lords decision was later referred to in Jobling v. Associated Dairies [1982] AC 794.
