Cassandra Kirkland

Cassandra Kirkland (13 October 1984 – 30 April 2017) was a French professional golfer.

Born in Paris to an American father and French mother,[1] Kirkland studied at the University of Arizona from 2002 to 2006.

[3] Kirkland played golf from the age of seven and was semi-finalist in the Girls Amateur Championship in 2001.

She was All-PAC 10 Team and won the Golfstat award for par-five scoring leader in 2004 and 2005.

She was diagnosed with lung cancer in April 2015, despite never having smoked and having led the lifestyle of a healthy, professional athlete.
