The Castlegate Sandstone is a Mesozoic geologic formation in the United States.
Dinosaur remains are among the fossils that have been recovered from the formation, although none have yet been referred to a specific genus.
[2] It gets its name from the gate-like passage that used to exist at the type section in Price Canyon.
[3] The western side of the gate was removed during highway improvement, which exposed most of the stratum.
