This episode was originally supposed to be the death of Domingo Gallardo “Krazy 8” Molina along with his cousin but the producers loved the performance of Archinega that they begged Gilligan for him to stay longer.

The episode title is a part of a line from the 1957 film Sweet Smell of Success, in which a character reports that he resolved an issue: J.J. Hunsecker: That means you've got a plan.
