Catherine Ceniza Choy

Catherine Ceniza Choy (born April 9, 1969) is a Professor of Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Berkeley.

Prior to working at UC Berkeley, she taught at the University of Minnesota in American Studies.

[1] Choy received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Pomona College in 1991, where she graduated cum laude.

Choy uses the term "empire of care" to refer global inequalities in health services due to an inequitable distribution of healthcare providers around the world.

[4] In 2013, Choy's book Global Families: A History of Asian International Adoption in America was published.
