Chahar Borj

Chahar Borj (Persian: چهاربرج)[a] is a city in the Central District[b] of Chaharborj County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county[5] and the district.

As the village of Chahar Borj-e Qadim, it was the capital of Marhemetabad-e Shomali Rural District[7] until the capital was transferred to the village of Shabanlu.

[5] At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 7,940 in 1,937 households, when it was in Marhemetabad District[c] of Miandoab County.

[9] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 9,406 people in 2,793 households.
