Charles A. Sorber

[2] During his lifetime Dr. Sorber served in the U.S. Army and in a number of academic, research, and administrative positions in the United States.

In 2003 was appointed interim president of the University of Texas at Arlington a position he held for most of 2003 and early in 2004.

In 2009-10, the UT System called on him again, to relocate to the Rio Grande Valley to serve as interim president of the University of Texas-Pan American.

[9] Charles Arthur "Chuck" Sorber died suddenly in New York City on Friday, October 18, 2013, at the age of 74.

On February 6, 2014, the University of Texas System Board of Regents approved the posthumous appointment of Charles A. Sorber, Ph.D., as president emeritus of UT Permian Basin.
