Charles Edwin Herzig

Charles Edwin Herzig (August 14, 1929 – September 7, 1991) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church.

Charles Herzig was born on August 14, 1929, in San Antonio, Texas.

The grandson of a Lutheran minister, Herzig was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Galveston by Archbishop Robert Lucey on May 31, 1955.

[1] On December 12, 1986, Herzig was named bishop of the newly created Diocese of Tyler by Pope John Paul II.
