Charles Gilchrist Adams

Charles Gilchrist Adams (December 13, 1936 – November 29, 2023) was an American pastor who served as the first Nickerson Professor of the Practice of Ethics and Ministry at Harvard Divinity School from 2007[2] to 2012.

[5] Adams served as the senior pastor at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit from 1969 to 2019.

[6] In 1991[7] and 1992,[8] Ebony magazine selected Adams as one of the 100 "Most Influential Black Americans".

[9] Adams died from pneumonia and cardiac arrest on November 29, 2023, at the age of 86.
