Charles Gore (MP)

Charles Gore (c. 1711 - 15 February 1768) of Tring Park, Hertfordshire, was a British landowner and Tory politician who sat in the House of Commons almost continuously between 1739 and 1768.

[2] Gore was returned as Tory Member of Parliament for Cricklade at a by-election on 21 November 1739 caused by the death of his father.

In 1742 he was one of the opposition Members proposed by the court to sit on the committee of inquiry into Walpole's Administration, although he was not elected to it.

In May 1762 Newcastle recommended Gore to Nathaniel Ryder for a seat at Tiverton, where he was returned at a by-election on 14 May 1762.
