In this function, he was the deputy of democratic governor, Henry F. Schricker, and he presided over the Indiana Senate.
He attended Broad Ripple High School, graduating in 1911, and later Central Business College.
[7] He married and had 3 sons,[8] as well as being a master of the Broad Ripple Masonic Lodge and member of the Scottish Rite.
[9] Dawson died on October 9, 1973, in Indianapolis and was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery.
