Charles R. Scott

He was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 20, 1966, and received his commission on November 3, 1966.

[1] Andrew McClurg, a noted professor of torts, was a law clerk to Scott.

[citation needed] Scott incurred the ire of Florida Governor Claude R. Kirk Jr. in 1970 for issuing busing orders for Volusia County schools; Kirk denounced Scott on television and called for his impeachment.

[2] Scott died on May 12, 1983, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.

[2] He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in his hotel room while attending a conference of judges of the 11th Judicial Circuit and never regained consciousness.
