Charles W. Burpee

Charles Winslow Burpee (13 November 1859, Rockville, Connecticut – 13 May 1945)[1] was an American newspaper editor.

Burpee attended Rockville (Connecticut) High School, and graduated from Yale in 1883.

[1] He was also chairman of the editorial board of the Yale Daily News during his senior year.

[1] He left newspapers in 1904, to become head of the educational and editorial departments of the Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company of Hartford.

[1] Burpee was member of the Sons of the American Revolution[1] and the Twilight Club of Hartford.
