Her father was inspiring, but her mother was the organised one who managed the family's money.
[3] On 10 June 1852, she married William Burbury[4] who was then teaching at her father's Shrewsbury School.
Her husband died leaving the "living" in West Felton vacant and this job was taken on by her father.
In 1873 she stood as a candidate to become a member of the London school board (as women were allowed to stand for this public position), but she was not elected.
Burbury died on 14 November 1895, aged 63, in Richmond, London, leaving effects worth £5369 13s 2d.
