Cheberloyevsky District

[4] According to the 1926 census, there were 13,053 people living in Cheberloyevsky District, in 11 selsoviets.

[6] It was restored formally as Cheberloyevsky District in 1935, as a part of the Chechen-Ingush ASSR.

As of 31 December 1940, the district included over 160 settlements, with a population of more than 17,000 people.

However, former residents of Cheberloyevsky District were unable to return to the area as it was "closed for living".

In 1992, the district was again restored by the government of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in its pre-1944 borders.

[10] In 2014, the district was restored for a third time, under the constitution of the Chechen Republic.

This included Chechens (the majority at 95.7%), Russians (1.6%), Ukrainians (0.3%), and Ingush (0.2%), as well as other minority groups.
